LifeMissions

... Missions help me see just how big the world is... and that it doesn't revolve around me.

Mission FAQs

Mission is about a lifestyle of developing relationships, serving others and transforming lives. It is doing everyday acts to meet the needs of people around us and around the world. It isn't a function of time or money or geography... it simply is being an everyday missionary offering help and hope.

What is LifeChurch.tv's definition of mission?

Mission is about a lifestyle of developing relationships, serving others and transforming lives. It is doing everyday acts to meet the needs of people around us and around the world. It isn't a function of time or money or geography... it simply is being an everyday missionary offering help and hope.

What are the areas of focus for LifeMissions?

We are focused in three areas... LifePacks, LifeReach and MicroMissions. In addition, we support missionaries around the world and provide paths for short-sterm mission teams to go outside their own country.

What are LifePacks?

These are church-wide initiatives to gather supplies and materials to meet the needs of a group of people. For Christians in Afghanistan, we gathered blankets and clothes. For the forgotten children of New Orleans, we gathered toys at Christmas time. We make LifePack bags available at each campus, people fill the bag using a list of approved and needed items and then bring it back to the campus for distribution. It is a great way to be involved, to make a difference in someone's life, without leaving home.

What is LifeReach?

This is literally just reaching out to people… seeing a need and meeting it. It can be an act of kindness such as mowing an elderly person’s lawn. It can be babysitting for a single mom, so she can have a night off. It can be repairing someone's home or car who wouldn’t otherwise be able to have it done. It can be more involved, but basically it is being an everyday missionary. The program invites LifeGroups to actively seek opportunities to serve and provides resources to help meet identified needs.

What are MicroMissions?

These are mission teams organized at each campus that go to mission sites. There they will perform tasks, build relationships with the people they are serving, worship together and share about what they sensed God doing while in mission. A MicroMission can be organized for a few hours or several days depending on the tasks and locations.

Who do I contact about participating?

On each campus there is a LifeGroup/Mission Pastor who is the primary contact for all missions. That pastor can answer your questions and get your plugged into a mission activity that is a good fit for you.

What opportunities exist for me to be involved?

Every campus has projects you can be involved in. Depending on the time of year, LifePack projects will be available. MicroMissions are available on a regular basis. LifeReach projects can be done anytime.

What do I really have to offer?

Yourself and all the experiences God has taken you through. You don’t have to have some specific set of skills or knowledge. All it takes is a love for God, a heart for others and a desire to make a difference.

How do I sign-up for a MicroMission?

Go to any campus page, choose LifeMissions and follow the instructions there to find and register for an upcoming opportunity.
